Playgroup is for pre-school aged children and their parents or carers. For adults, playgroup can be a fantastic support through meeting and forming friendships with other local parents going through similar experiences.

Playgroup-aged children are going through a stage of rapid development and attending playgroup can help them to expand their communications, social and motor skills.

Elwood Community Playgroup (ECP) was formed over 80 years ago and is housed at the Burnett Grey Maternal and Child Health Centre in Elwood.

ECP has wonderful facilities and a great supply of toys and play equipment and operates 25 playgroup sessions from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Each playgroup is allocated a 1.5 hour time slot and meets weekly at a set time. Groups accept new local residents on a regular basis. This is done by putting them in touch with the group representative of the age appropriate group. ECP also accommodates a new playgroup every 6-8 weeks.
