CHILD CARE
Child Care Quality Assurance (QIAS)
The Poets Grove Family & Children’s Services Centre will be applying to the National Childcare Accreditation Council to be recognised as an accredited service in the Quality Assurance System.
The NCAC is a national body responsible for the implementing and monitoring of registered child care services in Australia. This system supports the provision of quality child care experiences for all children enrolled in care.
Their mission is to work in partnership with families, services, government and other key stakeholders to facilitate and support continuous improvement to the quality of child care provided for children in Australia.
Seven quality areas that are covered in the QIAS are;

- Programming & Evaluation
- Children’s Experiences & Learning
- Protective Care & Safety
- Health, Nutrition & Wellbeing
- Managing to Support Quality
The system is implemented through a five step process.
- Registration
- Self-study and Continuing Improvement
- Validation
- Moderation
- Accreditation Decision
We encourage families to be involved in the accreditation process and a certificate will be displayed in the centre announcing the outcome.
